The After-School Snack Fussy Eaters Are ‘Devouring’ - Mouths of Mums

Hello!

It’s the after-school snack dilemma: what to give the kids that they’ll actually eat, without ruining dinner?

Consider the dilemma conquered, because one of our latest Mouths of Mums review teams may have uncovered the new king of after-school snacks. They’re little crispy, tasty mouthfuls that have had our young testers asking for more.

More than 100 Mouths of Mums reviewers put bibigo Mini Pop Mandu dumplings to the test, and their reviews suggest these bite-sized freezer snacks could be worth adding to the after-school snack rotation.

‘My kids are super fussy but still agreed they are tasty’

Getting a thumbs-up from children who turn their noses up at everything is no small feat!

Victorian mum Jessica Z tried the bibigo Mini Pop Mandu Beef Bulgogi dumplings and was impressed by how quickly she could get them on the table.

“My kids are super fussy but still agreed they are tasty,” she shared, adding that she opted to air fry them.

“It was super fast for my impatient hungry kids and came out perfect.”

She also loved the beef flavour, describing it as addictive, and said she would be buying them again for herself.

‘All three kids loved them!’

For Queensland mum Carly the biggest win was getting approval from all three of her children.

“The fact that all 3 of my kids loved the bibigo beef is amazing!” she wrote.

After air frying the dumplings, the kids devoured them and even asked to have them in their lunchboxes. She also pointed out that their small size made them suitable for a lunchbox, packed in a thermos container, while the quick preparation was another bonus.

“They are ready frozen to table within 10 minutes,” she said.

The snack that disappears in minutes

It seems these little dumplings aren’t hanging around for long once they hit the table.

Ashlee from WA tried the mini dumplings in both beef and chicken flavours and was pleasantly surprised by how easy they were to prepare in the air fryer.

She loved the contrast between the soft, moist filling and crispy outside, serving them with a little light soy sauce.

But it was her daughter’s reaction that really stood out.

“My daughter is super fussy but she devoured nearly half a packet in one go and has been asking for them ever since,” AshleeA shared.

She also thought they would make a handy option for entertaining.

Quick, easy and more than just an after-school snack

While the after-school rush was a recurring theme, reviewers found other ways to serve the dumplings, too.

Tara from NSW prepared the beef dumplings for her hungry boys after school and said they were a hit with the family.

“My kids absolutely devoured them and they were full and not reaching for the sugary snacks to make it through the afternoon,” she wrote.

But she also enjoyed the leftovers as a side with dinner, reheating them to bring back their crispiness.

And Queensland mum Jessie was equally enthusiastic about the chicken dumplings, sharing:

“Yum! The kids absolutely demolished the packet of those and being so quick and easy to prepare they have become a family favourite.”

She liked that they worked as either a quick snack or a side with dinner.
