  • Her first bath, I was insecure and scare but we both survived it.


  • Speech………he said vaccuum at 7 months of age and then nothing for months! To this day I wonder whether I misheard


  • My son Jacob’s first dance at 10 months! His Grandma was watching Elvis Presley on TV. The King was doing Rock & Roll at the time. Jacob, totally mesmerised, stood up all of a sudden, his legs twitching, hips shaking, hands clapping. The entire room was electrified. Elvis does rock!


  • Her first steps, it was shaky and poorly coordinated by so special to me.


  • Nothing goes beyond the depth of absolute love felt when I first heard “Mum”… a wornout phrase years on however the love continues to grow strong!

Than i heard the word “mama” . i looked at my son who was still playing with his toys. After some time i heard it again but it sounded a bit different. i looked at my son again. it wasn’t him calling me. My little daughter was standing right beside me and she called me again. i was overjoyed to hear her call me like this. i still remember even the sound of her voice wheb she called me for the first time. it was the best ever.


  • I don’t have children, so I’ll have to use my mum’s, and that was when I finally learned to ride a bicycle at the ripe old age of 40! Also,


  • My beautiful son was born with amazing big blue eyes. Although I could look at them forever, it took my special boy a long time to reciprocate and give eye contact. When he finally did, my heart melted. We ‘connected’ for the first time. I’ll never forget that moment.


  • My youngest first steps, he had global development delay and later we found out autism too, he took a long time to get to his first steps, I will always remember/cherish those!


  • First time I called 000 and the operator laughed at me when I tried to report that my baby ate nappy rash cream.


  • When he slept through the night, we were so surprised, it was something we thought it will never happen.
