  • A delicious dinner shortcut the whole family enjoyed!

    I did know IGA did hot chickens until now, and it’s honestly a game changer to our busy weeknights, the chicken was fresh, juicy and full of flavour and budget friendly. It made a super quick dinner before racing out the door for football training, dinner was on the table in under 20mins and a much better option then takeaway.

  • Succulent and generous!

    IGA’s Hot roast chicken is the thickest and heaviest chicken I have ever purchased. With competitor’s chickens, I rarely get left-overs for our family of six, however the IGA chicken was generous and plump. Succulent and not at all dry, it was moist and came with the right amount of stuffing. The skin was seasoned and tasty and I was very impressed with the temperature of the chicken, it was piping hot making it ideal as a convenient meal from shop to table.

    The price point was very reasonable, making it an affordable and healthy dinner either as is, or as an accompaniment to sides etc. We ate it with salads and wraps and with the leftovers chicken noodle soup. All in all, I would recommend IGA’s hot chickens as a convenient, generous tasty meal idea for lunch and or dinner.

  • Quickest dinner!

    I was actually surprised of how delicious the hot roast chicken tasted, it was fresh and moist with great seasoning. My whole family really enjoyed it. When short on time an IGA hot roast chicken is the go to as it can be paired with pretty much anything or eaten on its own. Such great value and we will be purchasing our hot roast chickens from IGA from now on.

  • Actually the best chicken

    I was so pleasantly surprised. That was the best roast chook I’ve ever eaten. It was beautifully cooked and deliciously crunchy skin on the outside. The whole family commented how delicious it was. I will 100% be purchasing again and I can’t wait to tell everyone about it! Highly recommend!

  • The 4pm panic bag is a winner

    A certain satisfaction came when I went into IGA and picked up my hot bagged chicken: I just knew that it was going to be a great meal. So golden and juicy, and the aroma! Taste didn't disappoint and there was enough for leftovers the next day as well as making a delicious broth from the bones. Would highly recommend every family gets an IGA chicken...at least once a week!

  • Easy & convenient

    After a busy weekend doing all of our errands

    The last thing I wanna do is waste time when I could be spending it with my family

    I love the convenience of picking up an IGA hot roast chicken

    The chicken was soft and juicy and hot like it just came out of the oven

    We added hours to a quick pasta and the chicken was such a good size that it gave us plenty of leftover meat to use for sandwiches and wraps for the week

    I love how easy it is to throw something together using the roast chicken as a main

  • Deliciously convenient

    This is the ultimate convenience dinner, when your are stretched thin for time and you still want your family to have nutritious meal that is filling and comforting. There are so many different ways to used a hot cooked chicken and it's easy to cater to everyone's needs. We all loved having a filling wrap with the chicken and the leftover chicken frame, I kust popped into my freezer with my leftover vegetables scraps that I will make into a chicken stock. Such a great way to use the whole chicken. I would highly recommend IGA's hot cooked chicken.

  • A Family Favourite

    I love the taste of the Hot Chicken, yummy skin on the outside, soft mouth watering tender chicken, the stuffing is a winner, it was evenly cooked & a good sized chook.

    The whole Family said it tasted delicious and they love the chicken skin. I served it with gravy, baked veges and broccoli & peas. Which made a wholesome dinner. They want me to get more chicken for tomorrow night’s dinner.

    On our next picnic I’ll buy a few hot chooks to make chicken sandwiches.

    The bag seals well, so no leakage of any chicken juices.

    I’d also like to make curry chicken and rice, easy as, the chicken is already cooked, so perfect when the family has busy times.

    I’ll Definitely be buying more hot chooks from IGA, they have mine & the Families tick of Approval.

    Hot IGA chickens are the BEST! Chicken bread rolls for lunches! Yum! Hot chicken dipped in dukka my fav with oil & vinegar my best snack! Nice reheat chicken up for meal prep next day lunches left over dinner. Hot chicken protein powerful tasty warmer dinners. Yum!

  • Convenience and flavourful meal at fingertip

    We are big fans of roasted chicken for supermarkets. However in the recent years the taste had declined along with size of the roasted chooks. We are glad IGA has two sizes that makes it easy when we need to either feed a fam of 4 or 6, we can pivot without having to buy 2 chooks when doing the latter. The flavours have always been good and the one we tasted was fantastic too. Well done and keep it up.

    This delicious already cooked chicken was a great ready to go meal for our family when I needed an easy to go to meal with leftovers for sandwiches the next day! Even liked from my fussy 8 year old too!!

  • Mum (And IGA) to the rescue!

    What do you do when one of your moved out of home kids needs some dinner? Head straight to your local IGA and grab a hot chicken of course!

    Their chickens are big, freshly cooked and tasty. For under $20 you can get a chicken and a side or two that solves the last minute dinner dash. Thanks IGA, you’ve done it again!

  • IGA Hot Roast Chicken Dinner Winner!

    Not sure what to cook for dinner? I picked up this delicious Hot Roast Chicken from IGA tonight, took it home and shredded it, mixed it with a jar of pasta sauce, grated cheese and cooked pasta and dinner was ready in 15 minutes!

  • Juicy chicken for a quick amd easy dinner

    What a lifesaver, I didn't know our local IGA offered hot and fresh roast chickens. Perfect for a quick dinner to please the whole family on those busy sport training nights. Some of us had the chicken with crusty bread rolls and salad, others preferred a wrap toasted in the sandwich press. Leftovers were perfect for school lunch sandwiches the next day! The chicken was so juicy and tasty, a real crowd pleaser at our place.

  • Better than Woolies chicken

    We as a family don’t buy roast chicken as much as we got but sick of the same taste.

    But this one definitely tastes better that any we have tried before and the whole family, including fussy eaters (my kids) loved this chicken.

    The price is not bad too and smells delicious.

  • Convenient easy meal

    I was lucky enough to be selected to be a part of this review.

    I am pretty happy with the Roast Chicken it was cooked really well and the meat was still moist and tasted nice.

    We had it mixed through a pasta with cheese on top and baked in the oven. Was really nice and quick doing it this way. We even had some chicken meat left over for a sandwich the next day. Buying the chicken precooked at IGA was extremely easier than cooking it myself as I was out for the day and didn’t have the time to cook one.

    Would buy a chicken from IGA again in the future.

  • Easiest grab-to-go got cookie to feed the family!

    For an easy, simple and quick on-the-go dinner, you cannot go past an IGA roast chookie. Flavoursome, large enough to feed to the family and one of the best go to meals out.

    I was so impressed with the size of the roast chook too from my local IGA! We had enough to feed our family of four for two days! I did serve the chook with a serving of risotto to stretch out the meal, and used the leftover the next day to make up grilled chicken and cheese sandwiches.

    I was a little dissappointed at the cost being $16.90 for a takeaway hot chook. I just don't remember them being that costly. For a once-off and for convenience it is great; but would love to see a much more competitive price so I would be more inclined to purchase more often.

  • Great for a quick meal for the family

    From the moment I put my IGA hot chicken in the car, my mouth was watering. It smelt so delicious that I wanted to reach into the bag to pull a piece off to eat on the way home.

    Fortunately it was on the back seat so my hot chicken made it home in one piece.

    Not only did it smell delicious, it looked great too. I served it up with chips and salad for dinner that night and had enough left over to make myself a chicken and coleslaw roll the next day.

    IGA hot chickens are great value for money and perfect for dinner, or lunch for that matter, when you have been on the go and need something quick and nutritious to eat.

  • Quick, easy yummy meal

    We love a hot chook option for family meals. Delicious in a fresh bread roll, then any leftovers get used up in a quick creamy mustard pasta or taken to work with leftover veggies. Staple in the fortnightly meal plan, saves me cooking and whole family enjoys the taste, even super fussy kids!

  • Yummy healthy convenient IGA roast chicken

    Picked up an IGA roast chicken the other night and honestly, it hit the spot. The meat was still juicy, not dry like some supermarket roasts. The seasoning was simple but tasty, they removed salt all together makes it a very healthy dinner and we can flavour as we like.

    It’s one of those easy healthy dinners that feels homely without the fuss. I just added a quick salad and some roast veggies, and it turned into a proper meal. For the price, it’s great value and saves me time on busy nights.

    Would definitely grab it again, it’s the kind of comfort food that makes life a bit easier.

    We were on holidays so thought we would buy a roast chicken from the IGA. It was so juicy and delicious that we ate the whole thing and then I realised we forgot to take a picture. One thing I do know, we will definitely be buying more!

  • Easy yummy dinner!!

    As a mum of 2 busy boys, a delicious, quick and easy dinner is always on the cards. This roast chicken was exactly that!

    I had never purchased a roast chicken from IGA but I can confidently say this will be a staple in my weekly shops. My boys are very picky eaters and I struggle to find something they both like but this dinner had them asking for more!

    I think this product is great value for money, we got a full meal out of this and still had leftovers which made for a very easy lunch the next day. 10/10!!

  • Absolutely delicious!

    Absolutely loved this hot chicken from IGA! It would have to be by far the best one we have had in a long time. It was so juicy and tender and full of flavour! It was perfect on our avocado cheese and chicken toasted sandwiches we had for lunch! Will definitely be buying them again, and the price was very reasonable!

  • Yummy easy dinner

    The roast chicken I picked up from iga was delicious and fed the whole family. Nice easy weeknight meal. I was able to pick up some bread and salad and we had easy, quick chicken and salad rolls for dinner. Ended up having a couple of extra teenagers over, so was able to feed them all!

  • Hot Chook = so many options

    Love a hot chook and we used this one for more protein in a pasta bake and also the chicken in our quick and easy chicken laksa! 1 chicken = 2 dinners. Perfect!

  • I have been a Purkle member for 10 years now. At the moment I have over $100 I am able to convert. Surveys can take any where from 3 minutes to 30 minutes and vary in amount you earn. It’s a great way to earn some money when you have free time. I am pretty slack at opening the emails so if I was more attentive I could have earnt a lot more.

  • I have been a Purkle member for approximately 10 years. I have redeemed hundreds of dollars over that time. Once you join, you receive survey invitations via email. I probably receive one invite per week. Some surveys are 5 minutes, others 30 minutes, some hours which enable you to log in and log out to complete. Incentives vary. It does take a while to add up but if you leave the incentives untouched, they eventually add up over time. It’s my little Purple bank account I have in the background of everything else I do.

  • I have been with Purkle for a bit but I actually haven’t seen their email a for a while. I probably should check my account online and check if my emails are going to spam as the emails are what prompts me to go online and complete the available surveys.

  • I have been with purkle for a long time on average cash in about 300 a year, it’s very easy to convert money to useable vouchers. I find it easier to just fill in whilst watching tv or something. Sometimes there are gaps with surveys but tend to save them till end of year anyway

  • I actually signed up to Purkle a few years ago and didn’t really make much money then! Its a good article though, and thanks for the reminder to log back in and do some surveys! Both my kids are at school now, so I do have some more spare time to fill!

  • Tried it before and it’s definitely one of the better companies to do surveys with. They make it so easy, the website is easy to navigate and the surveys are generally not too long. It’s easy to do whilst on the couch or filling in time! Definitely worth checking out to earn some extra cash.
