From fireworks to Kyle Sandilands-style plane flyovers, gender reveal parties have certainly come a long way from simply opening an envelope in front of loved ones. And this latest unique pole dancing gender reveal may just take the cake for creativity.

Cristina Scarlevschi, who is the founder of pole dancing studio Pole Addict in Moldova, decided she wanted something a little left of centre for her gender reveal party. So she enlisted two pole dancers, one dressed in pink the other in blue, to help with the gender reveal festivities.

“I don’t want to be like everybody else and just pop the balloon,” Cristina told Insider.

The expecting mum began pole dancing seven years ago and opened her own studio in 2017. “I started with three people. Now I have two schools in town and I will continue to develop the sport here.”

Knowing she wanted something unique for her gender reveal party, she chatted to her students, who came up with the pole dancing reveal idea. Apparently her students actually pranked her on the day of the reveal, saying the doctor wasn’t able to tell if she was having a boy or girl, so there was both colours of confetti in the balloons.

But when the balloons were popped, it was revealed Cristina is having a little boy with her husband Vladimir Sanduleac.

The mum-to-be shared a video of the reveal on TikTok, and it’s already amassed more than eight million views. But, more importantly, everyone at the party loved the routine.

“My family and friends, everyone applauded and looked with pride.”

  • its a shame that the videos have been removed.
Perhaps a clean up around the site of articles where the videos have been removed as there seems to be a lot.

  • I am not a fan of gender reveals – as my non-binary child says, “It’s basically talking about your baby’s genitals, which is just weird.”

  • This is quite restrained compared to the way some people do it.

  • Interesting way to announce.

  • They seem to be excited anyway and that’s what matters the most. Certainly not something I would have done to announce the sex of my babies. Certainly can’t understand why he jumped in the pool though.
