Has the Pie Maker Craze Gone Too Far?

Last week in the news you may have spotted the story of an Aussie mum who revealed her teenagers’ latest M & M’s creation in the Pie Maker. Well it just gets better and better!

Sharing a photo of the pies to the Kmart Pie Maker Recipes, Tips and Ideas Australia Facebook group, mum Donna revealed how her teen had come up with the genius idea of making M&M PIES.

‘Weird teenagers!’ she wrote alongside the photo of the M&M Pie as well as an apple, Hershey’s Chocolate Sauce and brown sugar variety.

Meanwhile another member of the group posted their creation of a Mars bar pie. But it doesn’t stop there.

Members have also shared their Tim tam pies, Snickers pies, Lindt chocolate ball cakes and even an amazing mint slice pie.

Seems there is nothing you can’t make in the trusty old pie maker.

I do own a pie maker but I think I’m going to get rid of it now. Ewww, these all look terrible. I love my chocolate — but not in a pie!!

Don’t own a pie maker although I’ve often thought I wouldn’t mind getting one. Some of these pies don’t look to bad but others? Bit too much for me.

Definitely don’t tickle my taste buds. Kids would probably love them though. Just what you need, kids on a sugar high

Ew ew ew!!! I’ve got a great idea…let’s make something ridiculously high in sugar and saturated fat that no one in their right mind should be eating!!! Lol creative but gross!

These would never be made in my house – chocolate is full of potassium and that is a no-no for my husbands diet regime. Personally I wouldn’t like to eat them, but can imagine that young teenagers would enjoy them – they might be able to run off the calorie content.

I thought they were burger patties when I first saw the photo haha! I had no idea pie makers were so popular. I like the cake ones, easy way to make cakes. The others, not sure I’d like the pastry with the chocolate etc.

A mint slice pie is not appealing to me – traditional savoury pies do appeal to me.
