Hello!

Toss out your kettle! The Kmart instant hot water gadget is creating even more hype than the humble pie maker. Who has the time to wait around for water to boil these days? This, my friends, is a massive time saver.

Seriously Kmart, you need to stop coming up with the goods. My kitchen is groaning with all my pie maker machines and now I need to make room for a new super-cool appliance. Well, at least I don’t need my kettle anymore. My new Kmart instant water dispenser can take that spot.

Who has time to wait for water to boil?

Well now that’s sorted, let’s take a quick look at this new must-have item. The newly launched Kmart instant hot water dispenser heats two litres of water in three to five seconds. Ok, lets pause here. I’ve just timed it – my kettle takes around 3 minutes to boil (perhaps even longer if the kettle is at capacity). So that is a saving of 2 minutes 55 seconds of just hanging around and waiting every time I want a cup of tea, which could be multiple times a day.

Just extending that math a little, by buying the Kmart instant hot water dispenser, I’ll be in effect, saving around 5 and a half days a year just waiting for water to boil. Now that’s pretty significant, don’t you think?

Make space on your benchtop

The instant hot water dispenser is described on Kmart’s website as ensuring “that you get instant hot water in no time!” It is a nifty stainless steel machine that looks similar to a stylish pod coffee maker. It sits on the benchtop and is ready to pump out water at the rate of 6ml per second.

The gadget has an adjustable temperature control, which can be set to 25C, 75C, 85C and 98C and pour capacity options of 150ml, 230ml or 300ml.

Plus there’s a child-proof safety lock to ensure kids can’t turn it on.

How it works

You basically fill up a water tank at the back of the appliance then pick your cup size and temperature setting on the digital display. The instant hot water machine then dispenses just that amount of water into your cup or mug in a matter of seconds. It only heats up the amount of water you want so not only are you saving on time,  you’re also saving energy too.

We’re going crazy over it

Kmart shoppers are going crazy for the new instant hot water gadget.

“I love mine and literally don’t know how I’ve lived without it lol. The number of times in the past that I’ve boiled the kettle and then had kids distract me so I forget to make my cuppa. Now I have instant hot water and it’s brilliant,” said one mum on the Kmart Mums facebook group.

“Reminds me of the hot water urns our mums used to have in the ’70s, but a lot safer. Getting one.”

Another fan explained why this new appliance is better than a kettle, saying that it is great for older people or those suffering from arthritis who find it difficult to lift a heavy kettle.

Kmart, You’ve Messed Up Again!

This gamechanger gadget is being sold at the value-for-money price of $69 but of course, in true Kmart style, it’s pretty much sold out in-store and online all over the country. Hasn’t this discount department store learned already? Make enough stock for all of us, please! This has been the recent trend of all new Kmart products. Kmart did the exact same thing when they launched their sausage roll maker. Incredible excitement + no stock anywhere = very frustrated shoppers.

So who knows when I’ll finally be able to get hold of an instant hot water thingymajig. I’m sure it will happen eventually. But in the meantime, I’m going to waste three minutes of my life boiling the kettle.

If you find one anywhere, please let me know.

  • I still con’t convince myself that this is significantly better than an electric kettle.

  • I don’t think we really need another appliance on the bench.

  • Wouldn’t mind one of these – but haven’t seen them in my store and not on their website either.

  • Wow! Yup, I could definitely use one of these.

  • It’s something I’d buy for family as a gift but not for our house. We only use the kettle a couple of times a day anyway.

  • This is such a brilliant idea and handy for so many people!

  • Hmmm, we just bought a new kettle but this one might be a bit much I think. All these instant things are teaching us to be less patient …I don’t mind waiting for my water to boil.

  • This product sounds amazing!
I could save time and electricity not just using the hot water for our cuppas, but I’d also use it for washing the dishes (if the temps work out for it).
No more waiting for the hot water to heat up in the taps.
I love this idea and contraption.
It would definitely be something I’d purchase!

  • Only have a hot milo every now and then so no need for it in my house

  • It’s a little pricey compared to a kettle. I wanted to get one but on getting to my local Kmart & seing one shelve I didn’t like the price of it & as I don’t really use my kettle much now I thought maybe a waste on me as especially now I’m not aloud visitors. I found out if you look at the price barcode on shelve edge of products at Kmart you’ll see a estimated restock date on it so that will give you a rough date to go back into Kmart to buy it when restocked!

  • We had one years ago, was ok but nothing to rave about, couldn’t have a quiet cuppa in the morning as it was so loud it woke everyone up

  • Firstly this is not a new thing, I had something that did this about 20 years ago. Getting back to your article, I have been to k-mart a number of times over the last few weeks and their shelves are empty.

  • I was also unlucky in finding one of these.. however my pod coffee machine heats up water like this.. So after just a cup of tea? Just don’t put the coffee pod in and it’s still instant hot water..

  • I really hate it when you look online and it states they have stock in store. You then go in and there is nothing there.
Kmart shouldn’t advertise products if they don’t have them
