Mum shares her awesome idea for sons 18th birthday and we are totally in love!

Kirsten Smith from Kirsten and co. is a former teacher who is now a successful blogger and business woman.

When she’s not sharing life & style tips, Kirsten’s at the helm of her natural skin care company, Skin Boss.

The busy mum recently shared her son Bailey’s 18th Birthday surprise and we totally adore the idea.

Kirsten shared that Bailey didn’t want a big fancy cake but he does however have a thing for the good old $4 Coles mudcake.

“I have a thing for going big when it comes to planning parties, so it just made sense to order 18 of them”, shared Kirsten.⠀

“I set the cake table up with one cake to celebrate each year and added photos from various birthdays over the years amongst the cakes. The hardest part of the whole process was getting a photo of the finished table!”

Awesome idea!

  • Oh my gosh. I wonder if he/they got through all of those cakes – I really hope they didn’t go to waste!
I’m a fan of those mud cakes too but I think after a couple of slices I’d be done eating anymore for awhile lol.
It’s a cute idea but just sickening thinking of having to eat that much of the same cake everyday until it was finished.

  • That’s a wonderful idea! My eldest is 18 next week. I’ve started her cake (a traditional fruit cake) in the same design my husband had for his 18th. My daughter saw photos, LOVED it and set about tracking down the same Wilton cake tin design. Such a milestone!
