Tennis champion Naomi Osaka has given birth to her first child – a baby girl!
In January this year, the talented athlete revealed the real reason she’s was giving Australian Open a miss – she was expecting her first baby!
According to People, Naomi has welcomed a daughter with her rapper boyfriend Cordae.
Just a few weeks ago she shared some adorable photos from a baby celebration, where she revealed she was expecting a girl.
The 25-year-old was a late withdrawal from the Grand Slam, but it all made sense when she took to Instagram to reveal ‘a little life update’.
Sharing an image of an ultrasound video, Naomi commented, “Can’t wait to get back on the court but here’s a little life update for 2023.
“The past few years have been interesting to say the least, but I find that it’s the most challenging times in life that may be the most fun,” she wrote.
The four time Grand Slam champion, and two time Australian Open winner continued, “These few months away from the sport has really given me a new love and appreciation for the game I’ve dedicated my life to.
“I realise that life is so short and I don’t take any moments for granted, every day is a new blessing and adventure. I know that I have so much to look forward to in the future, one thing I’m looking forward to is for my kid to watch one of my matches and tell someone ‘that’s my mum’.
“2023 will be a year that’ll be full of lessons for me and I hope I’ll see you guys in the start of the next one cause I’ll be in Aus is 2024.
“Sidenote: I don’t think there’s a perfectly correct path to take in life but I always felt that if you move forward with good intentions, you’ll find your way eventually.”
The former world number one last played in September last year, when she withdrew from the second round of a Tokyo event due to abdominal pain.
The past few days have been bursting with celebrity pregnancy announcements, including singer Jessie J, fellow tennis ace Ash Barty and fitness expert Sophie Guidolin.
