If you’re already thinking about your Easter morning breakfast… this one is a must.

I picked up Community Co traditional hot cross buns and Reese’s hot cross buns from IGA and turned them into the easiest Easter breakfast bake. Soft buns, raspberry jam, little pockets of chocolate and a creamy custard baked until golden. So simple and so good.

IGA is the place to pick up everything you need for some egg-stra special creations! With beautiful fresh produce, baking essentials, pantry staples and seasonal goodies all in one place, IGA is an easy stop for stocking up on Easter supplies.

Ingredients

  • 4 eggs
  • 300ml cream
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • Community Co Traditional Hot Cross Buns
  • Reese's Hot Cross Buns
  • Raspberry jam
  • chocolate of your choice

Method

  1. Whisk eggs, cream and sugar until well combined.
  2. Slice the traditional hot cross buns and spread raspberry jam inside. Leave the Reese’s buns whole.
  3. Place into a deep baking dish, scatter chocolate over the top and pour the egg mixture all over.
  4. Bake until set and golden.

  • I really am a huge fan of all of these yummy recipes that have hot cross buns as the feature ingredient. I always have a supply of hot cross buns leftover from the Easter period. This recipe sounds so good and would be delicious served with my favourite vanilla bean ice cream.
