Great for toddlers.

Ingredients (serves 1)

  • 1 Egg
  • 1 slice White bread buttered, crusts removed

Method

  1. Boil an egg for approximately 3 minutes or until soft.
  2. When egg is cool remove shell & roughly chop in bowl. Butter 1 slice of bread ensuring crusts are removed & chop into, small pieces. Combine with egg, mix well.
  3. Add salt & pepper to taste.

Notes

This is a recipe that has been handed down from generation to generation. You could coddle eggs in an egg coddler however, this is the simple & cheap away. Perfect for young & old. Some chopped parsley would be nice too & for meat lovers some cooked, chopped bacon could be added.

  • Interesting. I always assumed a coddled egg was just a poached egg.
