This is a great recipe for toddlers in summer. My 2-year old loves the bright colour of the smoothie and the taste, and especially likes to drink it with a straw!

Ingredients (serves 2)

  • 1 Frozen banana
  • 250mls Low fat milk
  • 125mls Low fat strawberry yoghurt
  • 1 teaspoon Honey

Method

  1. Peel banana and chop into 2 cm pieces
  2. Place banana, honey, milk and yoghurt in a blender, or use a hand-held stick blender, to mix until smooth.
  3. Serve and enjoy

Notes

I keep two or three bananas in the freezer ready to use for this recipe and the frozen banana can be substituted with1 cup of frozen strawberries. When freezing bananas, freeze with their skin on to stop the flesh from going brown.

  • I love these drinks in summer, they are so freezing. I would also add some watermelon or some berries as this will give it an amazing flavour and will be so refreshing. Honey is a good addition as it give it some sweetness and is so good for you. You could pretty much add anything you want.

  • Smoothies are such a great way to get fruit into kids. I would use fresh strawberries and greek yoghurt instead of strawberry yoghurt
