I love making silly sandwich faces; a good way to get kids involved in the kitchen and getting them to try different fillings. Use different combinations of ingredients.

Ingredients (makes 1 silly sandwich face)

  • 2 slices bread
  • butter
  • Few leaves lettuce
  • Few slices tomato
  • Couple of slices ham
  • 2 slices cheese
  • 2 mixed olives

Method

  1. Place two slices of bread on a plate; spread the slices with butter.
  2. Then start to add the fillings; layer each ingredient so that it looks like a silly face.
  3. Roll up the cheese and pop an olive in each end so it looks like crazy eyes. Pop another olive in the middle off the rolled up cheese, this is the nose!

Notes

I love making silly sandwich faces; a fun activity with the kids. Let your creativity run wild.

  • haha this really is quite funny but to be honest if i served this up for my kids they would not eat it. It doesn’t look very friendly. Also my kids wouldn’t eat the olives in it and to be honest olives in a sandwich are not something I would eat. They are more of a snack on their own.

  • Very cute. I can’t handle olives though and now I’ll always picture them as eyes. Ha Ha
