Well, we are totally sold on the Stardust. It offered everything it promised – so easy to set up quickly, which is essential with a tired and cranky baby who’s sick of travelling! Rather than being the clunky, time-consuming, space-waster that most portacots are, the Stardust is so easy to travel with, and fits in small spaces with ease. As with all other portacots, it is a long way down to place baby on their back, but one side is lower than the other, which definitely helps. We would definitely recommend it to other parents without hesitation!

After trying two different styles of portacots, we have finally struck gold with the Bugaboo Stardust!
It is the perfect combination of safety, slimline design, easy setup and stylish good looks.. When packed, it slides neatly under the bed for storage and will stack beautifully in the back of the car for camping trips. It truly is a one second open, and packing it down is just as easy. Given it’s also lightweight, this is by far the best design I’ve come across for setting up solo. We are heading off on a little getaway and I can’t wait to see how our little one sleeps in the Stardust!

This has absolutely changed my life with assembly for portacots! I could never get the poles to click in and this is so easy and automatically sets up so easy. Cant wait for my MIL to try this when she has my kids for a sleep over. Even the mattress is so comfy and soft. My daughter loved it and is perfect for taking on holiday.
Honestly, it took my partner and I a solid half hour to figure out how to unfold and lock in place our porta-cot. It was embarrassing.
We went to a friends house the other day and she had one of the Bugaboo Stardust cots and seriously, I need one. It’s easier to fold and unfold, it’s easier to put in the car, it’s lighter and just all around better.

What a portacot!! I’m so convinced I need one for bub #5. I’ve sworn by Bugaboo since the Cameleon with my first, the Donkey for the subsequent kids and now the Turtle for bub due in June. This looks like a fantastic essential for trips to grandparents’ and friends houses! The foldability is where it gets me, I’ve wrestled needlessly with so many different brands of portacot over the years and I’m so done!! The Stardust puts an end to that and I love it!

Love love love the stardust super lightweight slim and great carry case. The mattress is super soft and my girl has been loving her naps in there. Perfect for our upcoming camping trips

After four kids, we have used our fair share of other styles over the years and the Bugaboo Stardust has won hands-down! It has an amazing one second open BUT it is actually the close that has won me over. No more fiddling around for ages trying to tuck things in and fiddle with mattresses – this took maybe three seconds? Amazing.
It feels luxurious on the outside and the mattress is very generous for a travel cot. I love that it can fold with the mattress still in place! The travel bag it comes with is stylish as well as functional and I can get it on and off with ease. It’s narrow and lightweight and would fit in even the smallest of cars.
My two year old fits in it now, and I may have to invest in another so that my three month old gets a turn! It’ll definitely grow with our family over the next few years. Such a fab product!
I have used the Bugaboo Stardust portacot a few times now and I am continually impressed. I’m still amazed with the quick and easy set up/ pack up but there are more features I have grown to appreciate. The mattress is so comfortable my baby absolutely loves sleeping in the portacot and the compact design allows this to fit in so many spaces. This is a product I highly recommend.
I turned on my video and filmed myself opening the box and getting this portacot out for the first time. I am speechless at how easy it popped up and was done. The box says 1 minute and I would really question if it was less. Quality frame and beautiful padded mattress. You can see in my video how when i push the mattress there is substance to it and not your usual foam inner. 10 out of 10 – I cant wait to go away now and put this to the test. This is a nice compact portacot so perfect for hotel rooms and even a tent camping.

Summer beach and pool days are core childhood memory creators, but getting the kids out the door, not so much! From wrestling wriggly toddlers into rashies to arguing with teens trying to dodge sunscreen and cramming half the house into the car, the exhaustion can kick in before we’ve even set foot on the sand!
But there are some very clever tips that will make even the most stressful summer days smooth sailing – and the Mouths of Mums community know them all! Pack Smart, Not Big
Do you feel like you take waaayyy too much when you head to the beach or pool, and then you seem to forget a couple of key things that would have made life so much easier?

A plastic bag for wet towels and bathers
A dry bag for clothes
A bucket or basin to wash off sandy toys

Talcum powder to get sticky, wet sand off little feet. Just pop it on and brush it off – it’s magic!

Get Safety Sorted Before The Fun Starts
It’s pretty hard to get the kids’ attention once you’re at the beach or pool, so the safety talk should really start at home. Our mums recommend chatting to the kids about:
Swimming between the flags at the beach
Setting a meeting spot in case anyone gets separated
Sunscreen: Always apply sunscreen 20 minutes before heading outdoors. And set alarms to reapply every two hours throughout the day. Reapply immediately after swimming or using a towel.
Applying sunscreen at the start of the day and regularly throughout is so important, but it usually causes the most arguments. Kids don’t want to stop, teens assure you they ‘did it already’.

Prep & Time It Perfectly

Pack Smart Snacks
Snacks are a must, but it can be tricky to know what’s going to survive a hot, Aussie summer day – and what’s good for hungry tummies. Here’s what our mums recommend:
Chopped fruit
Crackers
Boiled eggs
Drink bottles that have been frozen overnight
“We have a few allergies/intolerances, so being prepared with food is helpful and saves us the search and some money. I pre-chop carrots, cucumber, apples, boiled egg, in a handy separating container, a packet of chips, dip, and bring water bottles. If it’s a longer day planned at the beach I’ll bring lunch too.” – MoM Member
A chaos-free beach day. Yes please!
You don’t need a military-style plan to enjoy a sunny day out. A beach trolley, some prep, and an easy sunscreen like SmartMist™ are enough to help things run calmly – or at least calm-ish!
Always read the label and follow the directions for use. Wear protective clothing, a hat and sunglasses in addition to sunscreen. Reapply frequently every 2 hours or more often when sweating and immediately after swimming or using a towel. Avoid prolonged high-risk sun exposure.

My biggest tip is to be very clear who’s watching the kids, especially when they’re in the water. Like, actually verbally hand over and make sure it’s acknowledged if you’re going somewhere (like to the bathroom). That can definitely save lives, but also save panics about lost kids in crowded spaces.
Some really good tips here! I had no idea about the talcum powder hack – who would have known! That is amazing and I will definitely try it next time we go to the beach! It is definitely worthwhile getting things ready the night before though, especially if you want to leave before midnight lol.
