  • Great for the price!

We use these and have for over a year...they are a great price and work well....I find for stubborn mess they don't work as well. They don't leave the dishes smelling nice but that is not essential for clean dishes...the key is hot water!

  • Can't fault it - as good as everything else but slightly cheaper.

So I tried these as the were on special so a lot cheaper the the brand I usually buy and found them to be comparitively the same besides the price. They cleaned as well, smelt fine, probably easier to deal with actually as they have a dissolving wrapper. I would buy again and recommend - nothing to fault from my point.

  • Just as good as Finish

I liked that Woolies brought out a dishwashing tablet that is as good as the "Finish" brand and so much cheaper. I found they cleaned my dishes and left my dishwasher smelling nice and clean. I will be buying these again instead of the more expensive brand. Well done woolworths!

  • For myriad of reasons, my package arrived late, my fault as my address wasnt fully updated. Anyways, went to Melbourne for a visit with family and when i got back three days back, the package was sitting beautifully on my doorstep. Very eagerly i unwrapped it, and the first thing i noticed was the nice lemon scent plus plenty samples for me to give friends. I used it for the dishes next day and the result was so good plus my dishwasher no longer had a musky smell. Would definitely be buying this when the time comes and would recommend to others also. Thank you Mouths of Mums team and thanks you Select Woolworths team

  • I have been very happy with these dishwashing tablets. I have always used the liquid but have found the tablets better. They have left no residue and a pleasant lemon scent. The dissolvable wrapper has also been convenient. I have been so impressed that I have purchased more this week as they are currently on sale.

  • We have been using these for about a week now and I cannot fault them. They clean just the same as the the expensive brand I buy normally. It says to rinse plates etc before putting them in the dishwasher but I have not really found the need to and the tablets still wash everything well. My clean dishes seem to dry a lot better too - no more opening the dishwasher to plates that still have water on them. I gave the sample packets out to my friends when I had them over for morning tea - I can't wait to hear how they found them as some of them use bore water in their homes so they may perform differently. So far so good. I will definitely buy these again (and save myself some money!).

  • Good value

The quality of Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets is very good. In my opinion, it is of high quality.

For a cheaper dishwasher tablet, I think it represents good value for money. It's pricing is usually cheaper than other brands, unless their is something on special.

I started using Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets because I was getting a lime scale build up from the previous brand I was using. Compared to the other brand, Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets has rectified this problem.

I find Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets performs very well, the only occasional problem is baked on food not being cleaned but, in saying that, I do only use the Eco program on a normal wash.

  • A great product, give it a go.

I have tried a great variety of dishwasher tablets, powders, rinse aids, etc etc, almost every one on the market. I had a second hand dishwasher for awhile but it died on me, so as we were doing up our kitchen I decided to buy a brand new dishwasher.

Once I bought the dishwasher, I wanted to make sure I bought the right cleaners to use, I didn't want the same thing to happen as my last one. Once I tried The Woolworths Brand All in One I surprisingly found it did the job just as well, if not better than the dearer brands. I was pleasantly surprised. The cost was good, as was the product. I tried it with the heavier load as well as with the glasses and plates.

The glasses came out clean and shiny, which I expect from a good cleaner, the plates were squeaky clean. I was really impressed with the price too. The more you buy in a pack the cheaper it is per wash. It is an idea to take a calculator to the supermarket, calculate the cost per wash. You check three or four, and you will find the Woolworths All In One is a great price.

When you purchase a dishwasher for the first time. Have a look at the water savings scale, and whether you use cold water and the machine heats it up, or it uses hot water. It amazed me what was involved.

But, ultimately I give Woolworths All in One Dishwasher tablets a 4.5 score overall. I am really impressed.

  • Value for money

I started using Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets because the cleaner I was using was beginning to leave a build of lime scale. Swapping brands, solved this problem and for the price you pay, you do get value for money. The dishes are clean and there is no overwhelming fragrance. Occasionally, caked on food may be left but overall I think this is a minor inconveniences.

  • A reliable performer

I use Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets on a regular bases and have found them to give a reliable clean most times. The only times Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets haven't performed is if the food is baked onto the dish. Before using this product, I was experiencing a build up of lime which has now since be resolved. Not sure why others are having problems.

I got a sample before i bought the packaging. Not happy with them as it doesn't clean a full load but half. Im now using home brand powder box which cost $2.50 i think for 1kg box. It cleans better than the select ones.

  • cheap and best dishwasher tablet

I started buying this dishwasher tablet from Woolworth 1 year ago, It is good and it cleans the dishes good, the price is really cheap and quality is also better . I would recommend it for others as well, but I don't use if for very high load, i use it just for half load or few dishes there, If you are going to use for full load i would recommend you all to use 2 tablets, it performance is better only if it is 2 and then foam would be formed better. Better quality and better price as well.

  • Mmmmm

Would love to say that there has been a cheaper priced product but on the market with still a good quality product, not the case here. When it comes to the crunch cleanliness is nothing to have poor quality involved with. This just did not make me feel comfortable or confident that any of plates, cutlery, etc are clean enough to reuse

  • not good

When I first got a dishwasher I got these as were cheaper, after using them my dishes were still dirty had food on them. I thought it was the dishwasher and it didn't work properly, so didn't use dishwasher for months then got some sample finish tablets and thought I'd give it a go, it worked perfect. Missed out on using x shwasher for months due to these tablets being a big fail. Wouldn't recommend and wouldn't buy again. If I wanted to hand wash My dishes I would do it in. The first place.

  • My go to dishwasher product

Woolworths Select All in 1 Dishwasher Tablets are my go to dishwasher cleaning product. The only time I deviate and buy something different, is if there is another brand on sale that is cheaper. My dishes come out clean with the only occassional baked on stain left, and that's probably me being a little bit lazy and not bothering to clean it off before washing.

  • Good for light loads

I have used these and Finish Quantum for a few months now.

For the price, the Woolworths ones do a good job on cleaning dishes, but found they don't always get everything clean...especially if it's baked on. I tend to use these if it's just rinsed crockery, cutlery and glasses and leave my heavy duty cleaning to Finish.

They certainly help stretch the Finish ones out, so I'm not complaining.

  • Great value for money, with good cleaning results

I love the finish Quantum tables, but find them very expensive. I recently tried the Woolworth all in one and found them to do a good job. Some items I have found needed a re-washing and I have been using a dishwasher cleaner a bit more regularly but compared to the price of the finish tablets the Woolworth's all in one are a good alternative.

  • Value for money

I usually use Finish and I have to be honest and say that it is my preferred. I used the select brand to trial it as finish is a little expensive and it does the trick however I found that the plastic dissolvable covering got stuck to the holder and didn't allow all of the detergent to go through the machine. That only happened twice though. Also I found that it does clean everything but I found done residue on my glass cups. I do believe it is good value got money though and would recommend it but my favorite is still finish.

  • Clean dishes at an affordable price

Woolworths select all in 1 dishwasher tablets get the job done. Compared to other brands of tablets, I think they represent good value for money. Dishes come out clean, and it is only the baked on food that may require attention. The tablets have no fragrance but I don't considered that to be an important factor. Clean dishes at an affordable price and standard, that's all I'm concerned about.

I have to admit I have generally only ever used finish or other brand names when it comes to dish washing tablets. However a few months ago while I was shopping I noticed that the select all in one tablets were on sale so I decided to give them a go. I have not looked back. They work just as good if not better than any other brand and just as important the price is much better. Great quality and Great price.

How to choose the best lunch box for school

When you’re searching for a kids’ lunch box, take the time to work out what will best suit their needs. If you make the right choice and invest in a quality one, it will last many years.

  • Box, bento or bag? If your child doesn’t like different foods touching, a bento lunch box is a great choice. Also, think about whether they prefer cut-up or whole fruit; a bento is better suited to cut food, while bags and boxes suit whole fruit. Bags are fantastic if you like to pack separate containers, like smaller bento or snack containers.
  • Freshness is a must – An insulated bag or box will keep everything cool and fresh until snack and lunchtime. But you can also get boxes that come with cold and ice packs. Remember, kids’ lunches often sit at room temperature for up to 5 or 6 hours before they’re eaten, so insulation and coolness are important. Check out how to keep school lunches safe in the heat.
  • Easy-to-clean design – Check if the box is dishwasher-safe, or for lunch bags, if they’re machine-washable.
  • Leak-proof – The last thing you want is a soggy mess at lunchtime, so if buying a hard lunch box, look for designs that are leak-proof with proper seals.
  • Child-friendly – Depending on your child’s motor skills and independence, you may need to start with a product that’s simple to open and close.
  • The right size – We tend to pack way too much in our kids’ lunches, so think about how much realistically you’ll need to pack for your child when choosing the size of their lunch box. You may also need to consider the size of their school bags.

What to put in kids’ lunch boxes

Health professionals agree that kids need a good balance of lean protein, grains, fruit and vegetables throughout the school day. Skip the processed food and try to reach for whole foods that pack a punch in the nutrient department. Here are some great ideas:

  • Grilled chicken or turkey wraps with fresh salad
  • Crackers and vegetable sticks with healthy dips like hummus
  • Whole-grain pasta with cherry tomatoes and your choice of cheese
  • Zucchini slice cut into rectangles for easy stacking in an insulated box
  • Almond-meal slice with raspberries or blueberries – or both!
  • Vegetarian sausage rolls – these freeze well and make a great meat-free lunch when cold.

  • That lunchbox comparison table is handy to have. It helped me make a decision on which lunchbox to buy next for my daughter who is starting kindergarten. I needed to upgrade her lunchbox but wasn’t sure which way to go. The table helped me with my decision. I ended up going with the BBOX and have found a cheaper lunch bag from a department store that it fits in.

    Reply

  • I do not know if anyone else has picked up on this or not, but every bag mentioned in the table above is a ‘designer’ brand. There are plenty of more affordable options that aren’t over $40. I have never spent that much on a lunchbox – even from Smiggle. The cheaper brands last just as well too.

  • Getting ready for the return to school has started to kick in so this was a timely read. We have the yum box and i love it, it is so easy for my daughter to open and close on her own. I find the lunch cooler bags also a great idea however some days depending on what else needs to go to school, they can be quite bulky to include in the school bag. I need to do some more research this year as i like the idea of being able to watch it in the washing machine, that is a clever idea.

  • Along with all of the other back to school products; there is also a good range of lunch boxes available for people to buy. It has been fun to see the wide range of bottles and lunch boxes that are available for the new year for school and for work.

  • Lunch boxes have come such a long way since my eldest was a kid, he’s now 26! There’s really a solution to everything from food heating, cooling, dividers, pockets etc etc. Lunch boxes are a real fashion accessory and so on-trend these days. I personally love the Bento lunch boxes. They save on plastic and separate different foods.

  • I am such a huge fan of Bento lunch boxes and Bento. Food should be so many wonderful things; including delicious, fun, colourful and nutritious too. Lunch is a favourite meal because the body is ready for some more calories and a boost of energy. Food looks so good in Bento lunch boxes.

  • There are so many great lunch box option out there indeed ! I’ve always liked the Bento style lunch boxes for my kids. It reduces the use of plastic lunch bags and packaged food which aren’t very good for the environment and it encourages to present a good variety of foods (which is not only better nutrition wise but lao to prevent our kids from getting bored with same foods all the time.

  • There are some really fabulous options here. So many variations of colour, shape and size. I love the bento style lunch boxes, so handy to keep food separate and eliminate the use of plastic packaging. The machine washable bags are a great idea too. They can get grubby so fast, this would be so much easier to maintain

  • This has gotten much easier since my kids hit high school – they have strong opinions about their lunch boxes, so I don’t have to think about it so much anymore! However, I am strongly in favor of bento style boxes regardless of their age. They’re easy to clean, easy to pack, and invite appropriate sized portions.

  • Great article! Our kids are so lucky, when it comes to lunchboxes, they really are spoilt for choice. There are so many to pick from. Regarding sandwiches, my eldest son, used to hate sandwiches for school lunches. It wasn’t until many years later that I discovered that he’d throw out his sandwiches in the playground bins. My son’s an adult now and he still hates sandwiches. He only likes “hot” lunches. So glad he lives on his own now and can make his own “hot” lunches just the way he likes them.

  • Wow, lunch boxes have really come such a long way from when I was taking a lunch box to school. Feel old, like “back in my day”, but we were lucky to have options like are available now. While I like some of these designs, I feel like they aren’t super practical.

  • These lunchboxes are beautiful but are they really worth the expensive price tag? I have been through so many lunch boxes and bags over the years and found the best it to use an insulated lunchbox bag with ice brick and use small containers to keep individual items fresh and assessable.

  • I love the bbox lunch boxes. They are so reliable and tough when kids throw their bags around. Easy to wash and store. I have used the we can be tiny snackies at home too. The boys love choosing a certain animal shape. They wash well, are durable and great quality.

  • My kids are old enough now to pack their own lunches and I am so happy to see the great choices they are making. They take left over meals, cook food in the morning to take and now I am confident they aren’t throwing away sandwiches! I do have the chilly bags for them, I find they fit better into bags

  • Love our bento b.boxes. So easy to pack. I do however worry that they’re made of plastic, not metal….

  • My daughter uses a bento box now for work and sometimes an insulated bag in summer, but when she was at school it was a rectangular lunch box with no compartments. It was very easy to wash each day, just the box and lid, and it could still be filled with rolls/sandwiches and snacks.

  • Lunchboxes are so important these days. Back in my day it was a brown paper bag or the exact same lunch box that everyone else had and there were three compartments. Today its such a fashion statement and as much as the lunchbox itself is judged so are the contents.
