Hello!

Okay ladies, I’m looking for a little sympathy here, because in the last couple of days my ego has been dealt some cruel, cruel blows!

First, Master Six offered to give me a foot and leg massage. So I let him roll up my jeans, and:
“Oooh, Mummy,” he squealed with delight. “You’re almost as hairy as Sulley!”

That’s the big, blue, very hairy monster from Monsters Inc, if you’re wondering.

I’d almost gotten over that trauma, when a tradie who’d come to give me a quote said “Ah, you’ve got the grandchildren over.”

“No,” I said “They’re my children.”

“REALLY?”

Clearly, I’ve let myself go a teeny bit.

  • Oh ha ha ha. Sorry, but if is a tad funny, especially being as hairy as Sulley, that’s a classic! I hope you’re seeing the funny side now, with the passage of time???

  • Oh well, we all have our days, my husband and me go through a similar thing frequently, Hubby is 22 years older than me, we have been together about 20 years and we do not even think of the age difference, however I was put in hospital thru emergency a few months ago and my husband had to book me in, he was offended that they asked if I was his daughter, and just recently my husband was in hospital having an operation and they again asked if his daughter was taking him home!!, we laugh but makes you think before making judgements on people, you do not know what their situation is.

  • Well that was not ok for that tradie to say. I bet he doesn’t have kids.

  • You have my sympathy lol! Hope this makes you feel better: Our daughter was riding her bike in the little court opposite our house one day and hubby was standing watching her, a little boy from the court came over and started chatting to our daughter, he wanted to know if her dad had died and her grandfather was now looking after her.

  • Don’t take it like that, take as it’s your turn to pamper yourself, go and get your hoar done, maybe get some new clothes.. Fingers crossed it makes you feel good.

  • I think it might be time for a pamper day. It is awful when things like that happen.

  • Gee I think that tradie was a little rude. Don’t worry when I was shaving my legs in the shower my son thought it was a special occasion! I bought myself some of those things that you put over your hand that are like sort of micro fine sanding paper that gets the hair off and exfoliates. I hate shaving – it’s so time consuming. You’re probably just a really busy mum. Take some you time and let hubby take the reins while you treat yourself.

  • Time to book yourself into a day spa!
