The date 23 rd of July 2012 and our second grand daughter was born.. What a beautiful day.. Talking to my hubby I said I am so happy our daughter did not go through what she did having her first… I was so excited to meet our new grand daughter Kiera Jane … We were looking after her big sister Ayla… We arrived the hospital all excited.. And she was beautiful… Mum dad Kiera has issues ….what… Kiera has issues … What sort of issues .. She was born with no bottom.. Our daughter explains , okay Kiera has a extra hole near her vulva removes her nappy and shows us.. She also has a cysts at the base of her spine… Oh .. Okay so what happens now.. My daughter burst into tears we ,I don,t know….. Okay honey ,we can all get through this.. We meet this beautiful funny female dr her name dr Doyle oh she is full of good news … Okay Kiera is fine everything is or king its just I. The wrong place,,, now we are going to wait until she is eight weeks then operate o. Her at Randwick children’s hospital… We will be doing a reconstruction.. Until then you need to keep her as clean as possible… Clean out all her little areas with Colton bubs and rinse her with warm water and a very little bit of femfresh … Wow she is so young .. Yes but it’s design to be used there… Our daughter took her beautiful daughter home .. And she thrived. And a good girl ,a really good baby… Before she took her home she had to get her to sleep on her belly… What about SIDS we asked … No it’s different with this baby because of her cyst and the operation she needs she needs to be trained to sleep on her belly… Eight weeks flew by.. With MRI. Cats cans etc blood test it was on going… Kiera had to drink a bottle of gastrolight. No bloody way would she take it… No other bottle or milk of any sort till she did… This little baby went 32 hours crying hungry our daughter crying because her baby was hungry .. Anyway Kiera finly took it …it clean out her bowel… They came and got Kiera for her operation .. She was gone just over six hours… Okay they could not remove the cyst as it was so wrapped around the bottom of her spine. So her bottom is now not where it should be but very close to her female area… She only has half a muscle so sometimes she leaks… Kiera is at the children’s hospital every two weeks .. Happy to catch the bus and train … But as soon as you get to the hospital and she sees the dr,s and they start to undress her she cries … She is poked and pushed has different dr,s looking at her.. This has made her very unsure ,, she hates strangers and has other issues .. We have just beentold she has asbergures so more dr,s. but the days she only goes to mummy or her sister who is a beautiful and good big sister or to nanny.. Kiera will spend time wrapped around your leg like a bear. Hanging on with all fours you have to stop and nurse her… But over all she is so happy to sit and play IPad or watch wiggles … No sudden noise if the phone rings it scares the hell out of her as does the vacuum mix master. Or any loud noise … The days are getting shorter as she is getting older .. They did say she might never walk .. No she runs… Plays her motor skills are a little behind but over all the children hospital Dr,s are amazed how well she is doing… As life goes on. The good girl Kiera is a joy. For all her quirky little ways days she will only eat fruit and cheese.., oh and people looking at her shaking there heads because she has been having lemonade since she was twelve months.. Yes the hospital put her on it… The sugar sucks water into her bowel and the gas makes her pass wind which keeps her bowel working .. She is given medicine morning and night as her stool needs to be kept lose.. And is not aloud to go anymore than 24 hrs without going.. But for all she has been through my daughter said mum I can do this… Because it could of been so much worse. And we need to be thank ful for what we have… Peter and myself are so proud of our daughter so very proud of the mother she turned out.. There was nothing she had done that cause this.. It’s just Mother Nature.. And this is something that’s very common.. But until it happen to us we had never heard of it… We have raised a very good girl a beautiful mother and I am one of the proudest grand mothers .. So we have learnt there is always someone worse off .. And if you are ever I. Doubt take a walk through the wards of a children’s hospitals …
