A place for everything and everything in its place is a motto I live by. Sure dirt and dust will be tracked into our homes from day to day activities but mess is created by our belongings and can be minimised. It may be toys, shoes, books or clothes, but by having a place for them to go, that is accessible, will make your house easier to manage and keep clean.

  • This is what I try and tell my kids, who I think have way too much stuff for their living spaces

  • I have tried and tried to teach my daughter this. She’s always complaining about not having enough room. I reply that until she learns to put things away where they belong, she’ll never have enough room. So easier to control mess if you just put things away

  • I live by this! Makes things much easier… if there is no place for it…it goes to charity in our place

  • Try telling my daughter that, she thinks everything belongs all over the floor and shoved under her bed!!

  • yes clutter makes a house look untidy and the kids are good at making messes

  • I must have been a very strange kid as I was very much like this from as early as I can remember. I had to become a little more flexible once it was no longer just me in the equation but keeping things to a minimum and having designated spots for everything certainly helps with keeping the home organised, tidy and less of the frantic once in a blue moon cleaning that I know some of my family and friends encounter.
