Hello!

It was a Good Friday several years ago and I was driving my twin boys to my parents’ place. We are driving along nicely when I feel the car acting strangely and then stop. I glide carefully to the side of the road. As soon I stop the car I turn around and ask my twin boys what had happened?

How did I know it was them? Mother’s instinct I guess.

It turns out that when they were washing the car early that day they had decided to do a thorough job……and washed inside the fuel tank!

Needless to say I was not a happy mum walking home to call the tow truck. I had one twin who pretended he had nothing to do with it and they other who kept apologising. An approach they still take!

  • You will often find one twin is far more mischievious that the other. One will be a leader and the other one either copy or think it’s funny and laugh. My brother was always getting into trouble for laughing at what the other kids were doing at school. He was at the other side of the room, so there was no way he actually did anything. He did it one day when there was an open day at school. Two of the other Mums told the teacher to stop picking on the wrong kid. Mum was a few minutes late but heard about it when she arrived.
He did play tricks on me but very rarely, usually something the boys at school had done to him a few times.

  • Oh no!! I love how toddlers think they are being helpful!! Hopefully you will be able to laugh about it one day.

  • Oh no! Did it ruin the car?
I’m so impressed in your mummy instincts!

  • Hahahaha! Oh my gosh! I’d have been furious! I’d love to have twins, but you do often hear of such mischief they can get up to. :D

Bet it’s all worth it though. :)

  • Oh goodness. My 2 year old always tries to “help” and I want to encourage it but seriously sometimes the consequences are a nightmare (for example toddler clearing the dinner table and throwing dishes in the sink… smash!)

  • At least they were trying to help!

  • Glad you can now laugh about it!

  • At least they wanted to be thorough with their cleaning… That sounds like one costly fix up!

    • I bet it would have definitely been costly! :(
