Hello!

Much to my heart breaking my eldest will be attending Prep next year. I searched high and low for a Kindy I was happy with, I attended and visited 6 in the area (2 I actually left in tears) I know I made the right choice there but now it’s the real deal, Big School…

We have an ok state school 3 blocks away. So walking would be great. No need for that crazy school parking. It’s not the top one in the area but still well maintained. Only problem is, the little girl next door has bullied my daughter since she started walking. (No joke, she would throw sticks, rocks, yell names at my 13mth) she is 3 years older and has even encouraged her lil school friends to pick on my girl through the fence..

So, clearly this is not where we want to send our lil one.. So then comes the question of where to send her? There are 3 others within 15kms all quite good but the catch is the ‘catchment’ I’ve put her name down at all, but most of the admins have given me the ‘look’ and have told me “you know she is 6th priority, so you may want to look at others” (really??? You don’t think I know this already)

And before anyone asks, yes I have also put her name down for a little catholic school. With my hubby in construction I’m scared to go down the track with more expensive private schooling, in the event of an industry downturn we wouldn’t be able to make the fees..

So the waiting event starts.. I’m not sure what else to do but hope we get accepted into one.

  • Some of my niece and nephews were fortunate enough to make it to selective schools ( so it feels like private but you are only paying public fees ). Do you think she can d a selective test to see if she can get into a selective school . It is worth a try .

  • How awful that you can’t use the local school because of the bully next door!
