Hello!

I was extremely honoured to attend a conference where Australian of the year Rosie Batty spoke about domestic violence. I am incredibly impressed by the remarkable courage of this tremendous woman who has suffered an unimaginable tragedy. Her story is incredible and her work invaluable in addressing domestic violence. Two women are murdered every week due to domestic violence and this is unacceptable. Everybody has a responsibility to stop domestic violence and to campaign against domestic violence. Children are impacted by domestic violence and every child deserves to grow up feeling safe and be living in a home free of violence. My heart goes out to anyone suffering from domestic violence.

  • Rosie Batty is an incredibly brave strong woman. Such a tragic story, how can a dad do that to his little boy? Whom you’re supposed to love and cherish and protect. And Rosie…such a beautiful spirit to come through that much pain and want to help others

  • What a truly brave woman she is! Having suffered so terribly herself & now doing everything she can for others that suffer the same violence. Rosie Batty is a very worthy Australian of the Year.

    • Brave and worthy and doing a wonderful job as Australian of the Year in getting her message across to everybody in the community.

  • I feel so sad whenever I hear of Rosie. She’s doing great work but must be in so much pain.

    • The pain can be seen, but also her courage and sheer determination.

  • I have been a victim of this.. It takes many shapes and forms and is absolutely life squashing. I was lucky enough to have parents that helped me through and got me help..Everyone should advocate against it.. it happens more than people realise

    • Thank you EllenG89 for sharing your story. I am so happy that you are now safe! You are right; it does take many shapes and forms. x

  • I find it amazing, that considering the statistic, not much is ever really put out in the media about domestic violence.

    • Unfortunately and sadly; only the sensational and horrific stories make it to the media for coverage. It is a terrible statistic and the impact on society is huge. Rosie is lobbying hard for changes and awareness. Education about domestic violence is needed in the community. Supporting causes that support victims of domestic violence is important as everyone should live free of any form of violence.
