its my daughter 3rd birthday today we had a little family gathering and my mum made the cakes doing a fantastic job (my daughter asked for a pretty dinosaur cake LOL)

I agree; parties are still very much the same; which is good. They are so much fun when kids are little too.

I also get that same enjoyment helping buy things and setting up and all the other fun things
