Hello!

An update on my mother in law with the brain tumour.
She is deteriorating quickly now, talking total nonsense, sliding out of her floor level bed.
We got a phone call on Tuesday, saying she had slid out of her chair and breakfast, didn’t hit her head. Went back to bed and they couldn’t wake her, they told us she was on her way out.
My husband rushed down there and her breathing was irregular, he sat with her for hours then all of a sudden she woke. She was tired but talking.
So this dear lady is not ready to leave yet, bless her heart.
She is breaking all our heart but we just want her to be at peace

  • Sometimes they also wake up a few minutes before they pass away and will talk quite sensibly. I’m not sure if that happens when a patient has a brain tumor. They had to put a pillow between her legs above her knees to stop her legs crossing all the time. My Auntie lost her ability to speak about a month before she passed away. I know it sounds harsh but if she is sitting in a chair they may need to put a tie of some sort on the arms of the chair to prevent her falling off it. (not against her body). I hope your sweet MIL isn’t suffering any unnecessary pain.

  • I feel for you & know exactly what you are going through. My MIL is in hospital with pneumonia & though still conscious she is drifting in & out of her dementia state. We have been told they can stop the antibiotics & keep her out of pain but we can’t agree with that. I pray she can just close her eyes & the suffering will end for her.

Love what time you have with her take photo’s and let her know she is loved for every minute you have left… My thoughts are with you at his time…

  • I hope you all find peace soon. Cancer is such a tragic disease. The way it infiltrates our loved ones bodies and sucks the life out of them is so depressing

    • Thank you so much. It is indeed xx
