We have just found out my my mother-in-law has a fast growing brain tumour. She is 88 so they won’t operate but the doctors are going to do radiation to slow it down. She is very forgetful and now she has hardly any short term memory. She is currently in hospital and will be for the next 6 weeks, then will need to go into a nursing home. The doctor’s say she has approximately 12 months.
It’s breaking our hearts to see such a strong lady deteriorate so quicky

  • It’s always a horrible journey to be on when you know a loved one is dying. My dad was always fit and active, until emphysema took hold. He was such a different man and it was devastating fir us to have to watch

  • How sad my thoughts are with you, maybe make a little memory book / photo wall with photos of the good times. Not only will it make you feel a little better it will brighten her day when she looks at it to see all the happy people in the photos. It will get to the stage where she doesnt know anyone but she might remember them from the photos so she will know they are important to her.. My aunt went the same way it was heart breaking. just having loving memories around her when visiting really helped the people coping that loved her with what was happening. it was also buried with her when she left..

    • Thank you for your tips. I’m sorry for your loss
