Watching the Today show this morning with the girls on the grill talking about a poor girl who is blind being bullied at school and the mother has decided to sue the parents of the bullies as they are to blame for their children becoming bullies as it is something that is learned and taught usually by they way the parents act.

The girls had different views and I too find myself often thinking that they must learn it a home being a parent of a bullied daughter, although I do not think it is always the case as some children may come from lovely families who would definatly not act this way and then they go to school with children who have learn to behave like bullies and thus then teacing them the art of bullying.

What are your views??

  • It’s a hard one but I think you can’t just blame the patents for their kids bad behaviour. You get drug addicts with parents who have never touched the stuff, alcoholics with tee total parents, kind and loving parents who have killers fir kids. And in some cases the opposite can be said. So it’s a tough one

  • It is hard to judge. I know of rotten parents whose kids have turned out great, and some great parents whose kids have turned out rotten. It really can only be taken on a case by case basis. If the parents are aware of the situation and simply do not care, then yes, blame them. However when you have parents at their wits end trying desperately to get their kids back on the right track, why make it harder for them? I am also sick of how quick everyone is to demand money these days. Seriously, how is forcing people who cannot afford it to fork out money to pay someone who feels wronged going to change things?

  • We are dealing with the issue at the moment. I actually went public with the names and had to see the school because of my post but was fed up with it happening. The schools can only do so much and it does come down to the parents to help resolve the situation. I did find out that it was not only this boy bullying but his brother as well in grade 6 and also found out that it is a problem at home because I was asked to come and listen to what the surrounding houses have to hear. So yes it is a problem and the parents should be held responsible.

  • I am also really worried about sending my child to school now just fearing for bullying. it is so outta control. Students should get heavy punishments for bullying. Cannot tolerate!!!

  • While bullying needs to be dealt with, sueing the parents solves nothing. It is so sad we are following the American way of demanding money for everything and anything. Other than causing horrendous financial problems for those parents, what does it acheive?
