Totally agree, such sadness at any time of year but it hits home for me more so close to the holidays… My parents lost their home in a fire 5 years ago on boxing day and i saw their devestation first hand and the nightmares. It took them over three years to have their home re built . It notr really the home that matters( If they have insurance) its the memories and prized possessions thats are inside that can not be repaced, and the lack of trust that follows. ( especially if it was a deliberate event as in my parents case).

  I have dear friends that also lost their homes to fires and it is the loss of photos that caused so much grief. Everyone rallied and gave them copies of most photos. It took them a long time to feel secure again at home; particularly the kids. Sorry for your parents loss. x
