The other day I came across an add/article from someone wanting to sell their 3year old daughter because the mother couldn’t cope with her behavior, and the fact that the father left after getting her pregnant and isn’t in the picture at all. No support at all, not even child support. This lady seemed to be very depressed and on the verge of killing herself.
I didn’t know how to respond, she’s obsviously not handling the way things have worked out. But to sell your child – that was a shock. I couldn’t even think that!!

What are your thoughts on this topic??

  • oh my god how can people put their child for sale

  • Yes I hope the mother gets the help and support she needs as well!

  • Was it a serious offer of sale? That’s dreadful if it was, that poor mum. I thought it was you and a joke, I was going to ask if you’d had any takers lol

  • i hope that it was just a joke albeit an unfunny one

  • Where would you even SEE an ad like that? Maybe she was letting off steam (if it was on fb) I’ve certainly been guilty of saying to a friend “do you wanna buy …. for a dollar? She’s getting on my last nerve” in jest, maybe that’s all it was?

  • Help intervention is needed in this case I think!

  • Pretty sure that is illegal

  • This mother seriously needs help. I hope it was one of those articles written as a bit of a vent.. I always tell the childcare girls they can keep my son if they wanted, but I never mean it for real!
I would try and get help for this lady. Anyway of contacting authorities or charities with her details?

  • as others have said, if it’s true, the mum needs help!

  • I find it hard to believe the paper or publication would allow the ad. Was it in Australia? Obviously its illegal and the ad should be reported.

  • I would of contacted the proper authorities and hoped that they can help and offer her the proper support she needs.

  • Maybe it’s fake or a cry for help, don’t know. She may have thought that/wrote about it but when it comes down to it there is no way a true mother would sell her child.
