Hello!

Having been a teacher, I have come across some funny things children say. I also hear all about parents and what they get up to! There is one story that always sticks in my mind and makes me have a bit of a giggle.

When I was studying, I was participating in prac at a school and was during my menstrual cycle so was also dealing with a pimple breakout. I was working with a group of students but one little girl was trying particularly hard to stay away from me. When I asked her if anything was wrong and if there was she could come and talk to me anytime that she likes/when she feels comfortable, she disclosed to me that she didn’t want to sit near me incase she caught my chickenpox! At the time I was embarrassed but now I laugh.

Hope this provides someone else a giggle too! Please feel free to share funny stories of what children say!

  • Oh nooo, I could imagine your embarrassment you poor thing, but I’m always amazed at what the minds of our little ones get all confused.

  • After reading a story about a cat with a two year old, I asked her what do you think the cat did next? She had the most serious expression when she answered “She went and laid an egg”

  • Years ago the oldest was at school so was home with with toddler and baby. My mother in law came to our front door a glass sliding door. My toddler went to the door as I was changing the baby’s nappy and said it was grand ma at the door. At that time both grand mothers were called this, so I asked which one. He said the fat old one, of course she heard that. She said he only got away with it because of his age and yes she was bigger and older then the other one. Later the other one called herself nanna.

  • Rather sensible of her, really, if you think about it.

  • Funny story! :-)
Let’s see, I’m trying to remember… I should have written them down!!!
At this moment nothing comes to my mind. Except one card my daughter made for our anniversary. But instead of anniversary, she wrote “anniversity”. Yes, let’s celebrate another year full of “adversities”. :-)
