do other Mum’s have days when you cook a lot of different things for meals and than freeze a lot of meals so they than are a quick and easy meal. I do this all the time I make heaps of meals freeze them and than their is so much to choose from I even freeze my home made onion gravy as well as my stock as I always make bulk. This is also good for when I go and stay at my Mum’s for a week or more as hubby is still eating well. It also stops you buying alot of shop bought quick frozen meals and you know the one you make are going to taste way better

  • I used to do it quite a lot. You need to rotate your “stock” or the older stays at the back for too long. Even in airtight containers it does deteriorate with time.

  • I often make double batches. Spaghetti bolognese sauce and quiches freezes really well. I also make shepherds pie (The mince filling) and freeze that. I like to freeze small portion of lasagne for a quick meal.

  • I don’t prepare a lot of different meals on the one day but I do cook double the quantity for anything that does well with freezing. Also cook extra chicken etc to use for next day’s lunches.

  • I try to always cook more then freeze. Most of the time when hubby is home for a few nights in a row he stops me freezing it and just eats it all in the next couple of nights. Maybe I need to make bigger batches!
