Hmmm…i know many other MoM readers will know exactly what i am about to write! This weekend is the official opening season of Cricket. It seems only yesterday that the football season ended and here we are, only a few days on, and onto the next thing!! As of Saturday, my husband will disappear for that extra day of the week to stand out on an open field in his whites and floppy hat! Whilst i appreciate that it is ‘his time’ to relax and be with mates, i feel a little down about the lack of quality family time we will now get and minimal mummy alone time i will get!! Oh well, out i go to watch each game, cheer him on and enjoy some sunshine!!!

  • It is good that you go out and support your husband and enjoy the sunshine. I love sports; especially AFL. Can’t wait for the season to begin.

  • Participating in sport is so good for you.

  • I really don’t know how they do it.

  • Just go along and enjoy some time with the other mums you will all be feeling the same and looking for company. My ex partner always complained about my sons sport and the time I was spending with him at sport but if I didn’t take him I would be on my own anyway he was always with his other kids or working

  • This brings back memories when I was with my ex & he played cricket in summer & coached baseball in winter. At the time I was a stay at home mum with 3 children under 4. It’s not just time on the field but also training nights which were Tuesdays & Thursdays & on Thursdays he’d stay late & have a few beers with the boys so I completely understand what you mean by family quality time.
