Hello!

I think Karma has well and truly come back to me. My 2 year old is just as stubborn and pigheaded as his Mummy :( Every night we have a battle over dinner. We have tried just about everything to get him to eat a well rounded meal but he will actually go to bed hungry rather than eat vegies or most meat. And even his favourites he has started to push away and say “no I don’t like it Mum”. I was brought up not to waste food so it really annoys me having to chuck out his food most nights. I know it is most likely a phase but wow, toddlers most definitely do test the boundaries, DAILY.

  • I just had to laugh reading your 2nd sentence … I can so relate to that! My 2 year old is the most stubborn little person I’ve met. Our biggest problem is bed time. He won’t go to bed until he is good and ready, and more often than not, that’s after he’s chosen to go to sleep on the couch – and I have to transfer him into his room. 2 year olds huh. Good luck with yours!

  • Try the ‘one bite of _____ (disliked food) and you can have one bite of ______ (liked food)’ approach. it worked well for us.

  • Try reverse phycology … I did it with my daughter sayin… ” I bet u won’t eat that carrot” being stubborn she had to prove me world… Now she is always trying to prove she will eat her veggies!,, even if she eats it with something at least she eating it!,
