Hello!

3 years ago i was diagnosed with a chronic medical/pain condition called Pancreatitis caused by contracting an infection from having a routine gall bladder removal surgery, since then i have struggled with daily excrutiating pain, nausea, vomiting, dramatic weightloss & trouble breaking down the foods in my body. It wasnt untill i got sick myself that i actually began to realise & understand what life must be like for the people out there that suffer with a chronic pain condition & have to endure daily pain. Luckily for me a new permanent pain proceedure has me looking towards a brighter future & hoping for a pain free life to come. So what is this new surgery? Basically the surgeon cuts & completely severs a nerve in the body that causes pain & cramping in the stomache, sounds relatively easy enough but actually it isnt, in order to do the proceedure they have to deflate one of my lungs so that they can go in behind all my organs to locate the nerve & cut it, in amongst alot of other nerves that cause feeling in the body. It is a surgery that can be tricky but that can also make me completely pain free, a decision that i have not taken lightly but also necessary if i am to live a pain free life again. I have been on the waiting list now for a little over 12months now & finally got the call this week to go in & have my surgery on the 28th of this month, so the time is finally here for me to take that leap of faith & hope it pays off so that i can look forward to a happier future with my son & get back to being that active mum i was before all of my health problems.
To all the mums out there who suffer from any health issues, you are not alone & there is always someone out there who can sympathise with what ur going thro, so dont feel defeated & never give up, stay possitive & hope for a better future :)

  • Hi Kellz, Have you heard of or tried Scenar Therapy? It works on the nervous system to prompt the body to self heal basically.
It’s a lot more in depth then that but it’s main factor is working with Pain among other body stresses. If your on the central coast call (02)43393376 if not you can still call that number and be referred to someone in your area. Also helps with post op. Hope this helps,
    Good luck with your surgery.

  • I’ve live with chronic and acute pain for years, and it really wears you down. Especially hard is the attitude of some people who think because you look ok, that the problem can’t be really bad. I feel for you. I notice that it’s tomorrow that you have your surgery. I hope that all goes well for you. Take care & be kind to yourself. xxxx

  • My Pancreatis was damaged in a car accident and I can feel for you and the life change. I am so glad they can fix your problem and there is a light at the end of the tunnel. I have no pain but food and I do not go together and vomiting is just a part of life and the weight I have lost has gone beyond a joke I am now up to just over 100kg gone and have to try and not drop any more which is impossible but all test I have had I get to stay broken as there is no fixing me but in saying that I was injured from my jaw line to my toes. But I am so happy that you have found help and a life changer at that.
