Hello!

Personally I often struggle for time, and quite frankly don’t have the inclination to do some of the beautifully kempt and elaborate looking hairstyles I see some mum’s achieve. As time has gone on I have discovered from others, and also inadvertently from just throwing my hair up some tricky little short cuts. The most recent tip I discovered was from an after school care worker, when I commented on how beautiful her loose flowing curls looked. She replied “Oh I just cheat and put my hair into a pony tail and then curl section of the pony tail and then let it loose.” That was fantastic news for me, as I often struggle with sectioning my hair and getting it tangled and the whole thing takes ages, and I’m left with a half curly half frizzy mess. The other trick that I discovered is I had had my hair in a pony tail and I twisted it one way, then up into a bun. The next day I let my hair out of the bun, and walla I had curls/waves! The other thing you can do is twist your hair into a French roll, secure it with whatever pins you like, and you get the same next day effect – lovely loose waves. I realise that everyone has different hair types, and I’m just sharing my experiences in the hope that it may help another busy mum out there who has unruly hair and like me likes to take short cuts.

  • I just stick it in a pony tail, its a fluffy frizz mess day one, day two it looks ok then i wash it and its frizzy again, i have a secret tip, i can get to the point where i don’t have time to wash it so I use talcum powder (in place of dry shampoo) and it smells so good and soaks up the grease…my cheat tip so if i smell good you know its because really I’m a grease monkey today lol
