Hello!

After having my little one I wanted to work anywhere that catered for “out of hours”.
After my parental leave ran out I found it really tough money wise, so I started applying for positions anywhere.
Then… I saw a Fast food position come up…

I applied, only being 23 I thought I’d still have a shot as they hire Uni students,

WELL, I just wanted to say how many rude rude people come through! If you know one of these people, please do something about it.
I have been sworn at and spoken to like absolute c**p!

Luckily I have a backbone, and can give it back to them without being unprofessional.
But seriously, if your a Mum, and you speak to people like that in front of your kids.. How do you expect them to have morals,
Some of these workers have only had this Job for a few months and it’s their first job.
Cut them some slack! Just think how you want your kids treated when they start a job.

  • I worked at Pizza Hut from the age of 14 until I was 19. Definetely very rude people, I could not believe some of the things customers tried to get away with and say. To be honest I now work for a big Telecommunication company in the complaints department, if you think you are dealing with rude people, you have nothing on what I hear on a day to day basis, don’t get me wrong there are some lovely people who genuinely have an issue they need resolved and are not just out to scam, but there are people who are out for what they can get and they abuse and swear etc (yes I can hear kids in the background a lot of the time too) its horrendous, I take it in my stride, I go out of my way for all my customers, however I always seem to go just that little bit more out of my way for those who are nice despite issues occurring. It does pay to be civil and respectful!

  • Are these drunk people? How awful! I wonder if people equate fast food with socio-economic status. I applaud you for getting out there and getting a job, any job.

  • I agree it is absolutely appalling!

  • It seems the changes in society have made it easier to forget the saying “treat people how you want to be treated”.. now it’s all “I’m in it for me and everyone else can get stuffed!”.
    Which is sad.
But I hold my head high knowing I show my kids how to respect people and those who work in these positions. Well done you for holding your head high in a job that people look down on!

    • It’s sad that’s what this world has come to, I’m just glad there is still people out there that have morals!

  • i would refuse service to them. lol too bad you can’t say “would you like some spit with that burger” lol. jokes!

    • The sad thing is, there’s time I could, not that I EVER WOULD! But why attack people who handle your food hey?

  • I remember working in retail while at school and encountering some of those people. It is very sad that some parts of society believe that is acceptable yet generally it is those people who will either not work or do anything to help themselves or they are the first to complain when they are not treated as they want to be.

  • that’s great that you stand up for yourself. I am never rude to anybody.

  • People can be so rude.

  • That sort of sucks. I don’t know why people need to be rude. Does it make them feel better?

  • Luckily I rarely witness this kind of behaviour.

  • I used to work in a fast food restaurant and copped a lot of yelling and seen a lot of yelling and carrying on. It is really rude and disrespectful. Not to mention they are embarrassing themselves.

  • I think that some people feel that if you are there to serve them … them you are lower than them and they can treat you badly … WRONG!! I am glad to hear that you stand up for yourself and role model this to the younger staff… well done!

    • I just hope the younger staff learn so they don’t crumble like I once did.
They know I’m a second away to back them if they need which is great :)

  • Sadly this is the case for anyone dealing with the public. retail, vet industry, etc.hopefully the really nice customers make up for the bad ones.
I’m glad you have a strong backbone

    • The nice customers do make life good and you are right they do out weigh the rude and disrespectful ones!
