Sorry you feel this way, remember other people are probably thinking about their own issues. My mum also having this same issue and she is being sent to a specialist. It’s something I am interested in as I have noticed also my hair thinning. If it is the front it is more likely alopecia, because sometimes on the crown it can happen from being pulled back too often from a pony tail.
Get another referral from the gp.
Just embrace it as other people won’t be looking at you they will be worried about their own image .
