Hello!

Why is it that my eldest has finished school for the year and I think to myself, next week I will take my 3 boys to get a photo with Santa. However…..

Over the weekend my 3 year old has bumped, bruised and battered himself. First thing Saturday morning he managed to slip in the shower and give himself a 20 cm egg on his forehead, and this morning when going to the toilet he managed to slip also (how I do not know) but split his chin on the bowl.

There were many tears and now with a healing chin and purplish forehead I am still going to head to our local Father Christmas and get the photo – for it does not have to be perfect, rather a moment in time and later in life I will look back and think…gee he was clumsy at that age!

And if we wait for the perfect moment in time we wouldn’t have the memories of today.

  • If you don’t laugh you’ll cry. If I waited for my accident prone kid to never have bruises to do anything he’d never be able to get out of bed.

  • The photo’s that aren’t perfect, they are the ones that have the best stories behind them generally.

  • You’re right there is no such thing as perfect timing. If we wait, we miss opportunities to capture moments in time. Lol I hope he doesn’t grow up to be as clumsy as me. Last week I smashed a bottle of perfume when it fell from my locker, plus the two coffee cups I knocked over, one of which smashed on the ground lol.

  • Yes, I agree – which is why some of my photos are less than perfect too.

  • Love the way you think, catch the memory in the moment as it will pass and you will say I should have
