Well its back to preparing for my surgery. Said goodbye to Dad on Friday 31st Jan for the last time at his funeral service. It was beautiful but so sad. I miss him so much. In a way its sad that life goes on. Today monday 3rd, My big boy started year 2! He was so so excited, Tuesday is my pre op/admission appointment for my prophylactic mastectomy and friday is my ct scan. I still havent been told if my standby date (27th feb) is my actual surgery date yet but until I know any different thats what im preparing for. Over the last month my mind has been all over the place while Dad has been slowly dying. Im hoping my mind clears and i can fully prepare for my surgery. Its going to be a long 12 hr surgery and then a long 6 month recovery. I need to prepare mentally, physically and emotionally. Need to find things to perk up, energise myself and relax before surgery

  • So sorry to hear of your dads passing. It’s incredibly hard when something like this happens, it completely stops our world, but the rest keeps on rolling. Hope your surgery went well and you’ve recovered ok xxx

  • I always find a walk at the beach or national park always helps to clear my head.

my thoughts are with you in this trying time, having just buried your father and then to have surgery would have taken some strenght

  • Thanks ladies,
i love how supported i feel on here
my sister is actually being very nasty at the moment regarding dads wishes and ashes
she has always been one to make it about her and ive always been left in the dark
I am going to maybe do the day spa thing on my own, sounds like something I really need

I wish things were different, I felt so ready and empowered for my surgery but now im not energetic enough to be excited, but everything happens for a reason so im just taking it one day at a time

  • Time you gave yourself some pampering, have you got a sister or close girlfriend that you could go to a day spa. Keeping busy keeps your mind off things & getting out, even just a walk along the beach helps! I wish you all the best & I will be looking forward to reading your next post!
