Hello!

I have two little girls at home, aged two and three. Very intelligent, independent and strong minded girls…so I know I’m going to be in for a lot of drama during their teen years for sure :) But since my eldest daughter turned three, I’ve had nothing but trouble with them fighting :( And i don’t mean “girly fighting” like sneaky, slapping, mean comment sort of fighting….No….I’m talking about the kind young boys get up to. Hitting, biting, crushing, kicking….baby smack down sorta fighting. I’ve tried to separate them, put them on time out, used positive re-enforcement, reprimanded them, tried star charts…..everything !! I know it may be a phase but its driving me insane. Help! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated ???

  • My sons went through the same thing but rest assured it doesn’t last. They would defend each other now with their last breath. It is just their way of sorting out each other’s strengths and weaknesses. Keep doing what your doing, hang in there and it will soon pass!

  • I would suggest getting your hands on some good books on this topic, reading through the books and using the strategies. Go for the parenting books of authors you best relate to.

    • Children may fight regardless of gender, teaching them other skills to cope is the way to go.
