Dear Pop Pop,

The first time that I heard your happy voice I was still on the ‘inside’ but I could instantly tell that you and I were going to be great friends.

Your pet name for me was ‘The little kicker’ which according to mummy was spot on! Every time nanny and mummy would visit you’d ask after me.

When you visited me shortly after my arrival on the ‘outside’ the joy on your face was clear.

Over the past year we spent many fun times together, all of which I enjoyed immensely – As did you, at times you jumped up, so excited you nearly forgot to use your walker…

Even when I was in a cranky mood, I felt instantly calm in your arms, with you gently talking to me.

I saved a lot of my best new tricks for our visits because I loved the look on your face at seeing how clever I was.

I’ve been around for a whole year now and I’d have to say in that time you were one of the ‘coolest’ adults I’ve had the pleasure of meeting.

I’m sorry that we didn’t get more time together but I know that you’re up in Heaven with Nan Nan now watching over me and all of your Great Grandchildren.
