My daughter is having surgery on friday for grommets after having numerous ear infections. I am gettnig rather nervous about her going in for surgery.Im sure she will be fine but I am still nervous. Has anyone got anything they can tell me about grommet surgery? She is only 16 months old

  • i am sure that your child will be fine (not sure if you have done this yet) i had a friend who had to do all this sort of stuff with her son. He was all good though

  • I hope your daughter coped well with her surgery, my son had his tonsills and adnoids out and he was so much better off for it. It did take time to heal after the surgery but i have no regrets at all. I hope having the operation has solved her issues. Wishing her a sppedy recovery.

  • I have no experience with grommets. But my 2 1/2 yo son had an operation to fix a hydrocele. I was freaking, held him while they put him out and again while he was waking up. Literally within half an hour of waking up, he was tearing round the waiting room playing with the toys. I was amazed! Kids are very resilient, and I know this won’t stop you from worrying, but I’m sure it will be fine

  • My son had cochlear implants at 9 months – A little similar. It was very straightforward with no complications.
