Want to live a more organic and sustainable life? Plant your own vegetable garden! If you don’t have room for a vegetable patch, you could plant herbs in pots and have them live in your kitchen or by a window! Seeds are reasonably inexpensive and you would always have your favourite herbs on hand saving you money!

  • We’re in an apartment and a veggie garden is out of the question. I’ve tried planting herbs and I just manage to kill them all… Yes even the hardy ones that can’t die.. I gave up!

    • It’s only now, later in life that I’m having any success in keeping my plants alive!

      • Some apartments are oriented the wrong way for plants to succeed (eg ones that have great views but no morning of afternoon sun). My sisters is like this and there is no way veggies would thrive there. In these circumstances, community gardens and farmers markets are fantastic.

  • Great advice. Can’t wait to start my veggie garden

  • Yep! I love my own fresh pots of herbs too! Saves lots of money too. :)
