Hello!

Today I realised two things 1. How utterly unfit I am. 2. The importance of having a try at something and being prepared look silly in order to show your children how important it is to have a go and try. This morning was what I should have been prepared for and totally forgot Parents vs Kids game at Auskick. So at 9.30am this morning (Sunday) I turn up in long boots, tights a loose jumper and my coat. I had totally forgotten about the match that day! Now I’m a separated parent and my son was so enthused about the match I wasn’t about to let him down. So I got out there and ran and played etc all in my unsuitable attire. I felt great after the run around and I guess I released some endorphins in the process, but my goodness my lungs were burning! It made me realise that perhaps I could do with a bit more exercise and how important it is to lead by example.

  • Good on you for getting out there. Your son would not know or remember what you were wearing but he would remember that you played.

  • Well done!
I understand how hard it is to do certain things. I have just started dance class. I thought it was probably the worst thing i could try but its been really good. very casual class and lots of fun. I had surgery 16 weeks ago so im only just healed so i have to do things slowly and carefully but its been good. Never too old or too late to start trying something new :)
    Good on ya

  • Well done on getting out there. If you’re like me and don’t love the gym, I can recommend Zumba. It doesn’t matter if you’re uncoordinated (goodness knows I am). It’s a fun way to get fit and laugh at yourself at the same time.

  • Thanks ladies! I got gang tackled a couple of times by the kids but it was good for the kids to see us all having a go- even though I looked like a goose without trackies and runners!

  • I love when a parent put their kids first and that you decided to just jump on in there and have some fun. I would have no doubt he loved a fun day with you included.
