Hi Mums,
I have been invited to a dinner next weekend. I have been asked to make a Dessert.
I am not really good at Desserts at all. I normally do salads. I am very nervous. I was just wondering if anyone had any full proof simple dessert recipes. I have found a few on this page. I was thinkingg the apple sour cream slice.
Is there any other simple suggestions that other mums could suggest. Thank you.

  • Chocolate Ripple Cake so simple, so easy, 2 ingredients and so delicious. Whip up your cream. Sandwich choc ripple bics together with the cream. Stack on plate however you like. Refrigerate over night. Mmmmmm

  • Sao biscuits, line the bottom of a tray.
Make up some packet custard mix with some gelatin powder, pour it over the sao while it’s hot. Cover the custard with another layer of sao biscuits.
Make up a simple raspberry flavoured icing mix and sprinkle some coconut over the top. Hands down the BEST vanilla slice and SOOOO easy

  • Thanks for the tips..I am not too bad at cakes..thats why i thought maybe the apple sour cream slice. Has anyone tried the recipe of this website before? How did it go?
    Thanks,

    • It is one of my favourite dessert slices & I used a GF butter cake mix to make mine. I also did the custard slice recipe that was on here & that was a big hit too!

      • Thanks does it taste much like sour cream?

      • No it actually tastes like a café bought slice, I make it often to take to places & I like a little more apple than stated in the recipe.

      • I made the apple slice. It was amazing.

  • I’m feel your nervousness, as I’m not really great at desserts either. I have found that Lemon Impossible pie has never failed me. You can serve it warm or cold. I found this recipe years ago in the Women’s Weekly Beginners Cookbook, but there are loads of recipes on the web for this.

  • No bake cheesecakes are pretty simple and quite fool proof. The also look pretty if you garnish then with some fresh or frozen berries.
