As a single income family, I am always trying to find ways to repurpose or find uses for ordinary things. I am finding some great ideas out there. Like cleaning with lemon juice or getting stains from carpets with skim milk.

What everyday hints and tips do you have to share?

  • I have heaps of oranges growing on 2 trees & asked what I could do with them, apart from juicing them. Someone on MoMs said to cut the orange skins up & soak them in white vinegar for a couple of weeks. I’ve done this and it makes a really powerful grease-cutting cleaner, especially useful in the kitchen. Works really well, smells great & costs almost nothing. I also found a lot of really great cleaning tips on the following page …

  • Bicarb soda and vinegar have become my best friends. They are useful for so many things. I clean my dishwasher out with them instead of using the expensive cleaners you can purchase from the supermarket.
