Over the long summer holidays I try and get my kids to learn a new skill. Something they are not taught at school and something they want to learn. last year my child showed an interest in the Rubics cube. So I said I would teach them as I learnt it at school when I was young. We did one step every day so it was remembered and it took 7 days to master it! And even a year on he stills picks it up occasionally and people are generally surprised he can do it! It has been fun passing on this learning process and gave a purpose for passing time away from the computer, tv and electronic games. We are just thinking what are we going to learn this holidays!
