Hello!

I feeling excited as my husband & I have a date tomorrow something we don’t get a chance to do very often. It’s not an overnight stay at a hotel or anything fancy just a lunch & a movie whilst the kids are at kindy & school. He’s got the day off & we usually juggle our working schedules so we don’t need childcare eg if I’m working he’s off & vice-versa. I’m going to make the effort to “do myself up” & wear a skirt & heels to make the day seem more special. Do other MoMs have regular dates with their partners?

  • Hope you had a wonderful date with your husband! My hubby and I still do our little outings together just the two of us. It’s often hard to organise everything but it does feel well worth it when we manage it. More often than not it’s nothing expensive or long but a picnic and time together is well valued.

  • Good for you, unfortunately we haven’t gone out in ages as we don’t have any family close by to babysit.

  • My husband works a three week roster so 7day shifts (7am till 3.30pm) then 7 afternoon shifts (3pm till 11.30pm) then 5 days off and our youngest does three days at kindy so we get 3 days to ourselves every third week which is great , also good to have some time to yourselves.
Hope you enjoy your date lunch :)

  • Well my date was a flop. Our youngest got sick overnight & had to stay home from Kindy. I was very disappointed to say the least. Ah well…..what can you do.

    • Oh I’m so sorry for you :( the whole thing sounded lovely, just to get some quality time together with all of the schedule juggling. I hope you can make another time where things go more to plan. Children do have a habit of throwing curve balls at you that you’re not expecting. You deserve a nice day together and I hope that happens soon for you both :)

      • Sorry you missed out on your special day. There will be another day for your lunch date, hope your little one is feeling better.

  • Wow that sounds so nice and what a lovely idea. Hubby and I use to sneak off after the kids where are school and preschool…memories lol but we have had our kids telling us that we need to go away out of the house after some family events so hubby picked a date this month and we are leaving early and have no idea as to where ewe are going to head as long as we get out of the house and we will not be coming home until really late…so it has been about 21 years since we ever had a date so to speak
