This Wednesday, 20/11 is the 9th year since you’ve been gone from my life, but not from my heart. I still can’t believe that a woman like you, who helped so many Australians in so many ways had to die from such a cruel disease, that took your mind at the age of 59. You proved to so many people that just because you where a woman it didn’t stop you taking on what was then a man’s world.

I’m always telling Sophie, your granddaughter about the amazing things you did. Introducing legislation into Parliament on domestic violence, rape in marriage, how the elderly are cared for in nursing homes and so much more.

I miss our coffee mornings and that you are missing out on seeing your grandchildren grow up. I hope you can see how I’m trying to look after dad now your not here. He has never got over the loss of his soul mate and 1 true love.

Know that you are never far from my mind and that you are always, always in my heart. I love you and miss you always.
