Hello!

My husband was diagnosed with depression last week, and although I am glad there’s a “reason” for his moods, I can’t help but think “is it me? Is it something I did?”. I can’t help but wonder if I could have made life easier for him, or told him more that we appreciate him, If i had been just a little bit of a better wife would he be happier? Most of all, I just can’t wait to have my husband back, to see the happy go lucky, funny man that I married 3 years ago, and I bet my little guy wants daddy back…

  • My hubby often tells me I’m the reason he drinks so much and needs to smoke pot :( But he also credits me as the one who saved his life. He often says if he hadn’t met me he would have ended up in prison or dead

  • Don’t feel guilty. It’s probably a combination of things all stacked up. Is it possible his job is stressful and he just hasn’t talked about it?? He could be shy about it or he may think you shouldn’t have to be burdened with it. Hopefully he will talk Medical Professional who can help him make a full recovery. With a child parents are sometimes told how they can help their child. I don’t know if the person your husband is seeing is willing to tell you how you can best help him.
Medication is not always the answer. It is trial and error choosing the right one and the dosage. Some can make you a lot worse, even give you suicidal thoughts. Not all patients tell their Drs. that immediately.
