Hello!

I loved to run, running for me was “me” time, it made me a better person, a happier person. I would get up and run at 2am in the morning if that is when I had to fit it in around the family. Looking back I can see I was slightly “obsessive” I have now mellowed with time but still run daily. But the funny thing about running was I never asked any of my 3 boys to run with me, they enjoyed their team sports, soccer, basketball, cricket all were part of the weekend agenda. Eventually embracing the marathon I began to run marathons regularly, the boys would come and watch, cheering me on and enjoying the entertainment I think more than their mum running. Through the teenage years it wasnt as exciting watching Mum do her runs so only came to a few of them, but then as adults they began to run and became addicted to the endorphins. They have since told me from watching me run as they grew up it taught them the discipline of sticking with something and following through when things get tough, it taught them no one has the right to ask you to give up something you love “for them”, it taught them self discipline, not being afraid to step outside the square and see what you are capable of. Exercise teaches so much more than just burning calories. All this and “I was just doing what I loved “Running”….ching ching cheers ps I now run with the grandkids
