Hello!

I was having lunch with a friend when a child across the room had a major tantrum. She was crying and threw herself on the floor and started to yell. The poor mum pleaded with her to get up. The waitress stepped in and was absolutely brilliant and convinced the child to get up off of the floor and the look on the mum’s face was of utter relief. Often people can be judgmental when events like this occur and the swift and helpful response was wonderful. We left a tip for the waitress, she deserved it!

  • Good on this waitress. Sometimes a little help is a welcome blessing to a tired parent of a grumpy child. I often try distraction techniques myself if it looks like someone is struggling and could do with a hand

  • I love it when the restraunts we go to have some activities for the kids wheather it be colouring in, or a dedicated play area. And if a service assistant was to step in and tell my kids whats expected while dining it makes it so much easier on me if they miss behave. I just tell them if they want to go back to listern to the rules of the venue. It makes for fun dinning not only for us but thoose around us..

  • Yes – so often someone outside the family can get kids to behave better.

  • Some times a helping hand from strangers can be a huge help. Children will often listen to someone they don’t know out of fear. I’m glad the waitress was understanding.

  • What a fantastic waitress. Tantrums are normally. I no longer stress when it’s my toddlers turn to have one

    • This poor mumma was upset and the waitress was an absolute gem to her! She really was so good with the little one and sometimes everyone needs someone else to help out. We will be going back to the café.

      • Good point about needing someone else to help out when times are tough – we should all step up and do this for other mum more often. Tantrums are stressful for parents.

      • Hear – hear, helping each other is such a good feeling too.

  • Everyone’s child is more than capable of this – so good of the waitress to assist in a positive way. It is dreadful when you are that poor mum!

    • So true all children can have their turn of a tantrum! I always appreciate extra helpful staff. They probably help make me keep going back to favourite places

  • It is always great that we hear great service at a restaurant especially when they are able to help customers in different ways . Taking kids out can bit difficult , but is really an enjoyable experience when you find the right place .
