I just read the story PEOPLE DO CARE
I was reminded of when after I returned to Australia after marriage breakdown. Inwasmstaying with friends until I re established my life. My friend mentioned at one of her social groups that items would be welcomed as I was starting out with nothing. One of the ladies visited, brought some items and asked me why I had been in prison. She assumed that to be the only reason someone would have nothing to set up fresh in an apartment. My friend and were in stitches laughing! Then she wanted to know the details about my life, failed marriage etc. She is a very caring lady, and extended kindness to me.

  • We had such a difficult patch last year with illness and similar issues, and we received so much kindness from casual acquaintances and even strangers (who’d been asked by friends if they could help). Things like cooking us a meal or taking half an hour to help me bath the kids, but it meant so much and made such a difference.

  • Thank you, yes all is fine now, but it was so funny. My friend and I have many thins to laugh about, but that is up there with the best. I thought it an odd assumption. Lol

  • Oh my, that’s definitely not the first conclusion that I’d jump to. How lovely that she was willing to help out a former criminal even if it wasn’t the case
